Raghunath Besha (Rama Laxman Besha)
On the very auspicious day of Chaitra purnima the deities are being adorned with Rama and Laxman which is known as Raghunath Besha. On this very auspicious day Shree Jagannath as Shree Rama and Balaram Becomes Laxman Lala. On the basis of Ramayan Mahapuran during Tretaya Yuga Shree krushna and the Shree Jagannath incarnation of Ram elder brother and laxman was Sanuja.
Maha laxmi was Mata Sita devi but it is a fact that Subhadra didn’t posess the abatar of Sita. Hence why this beshais being organized in Bishnu temples. In reality this Besha is an epoc making extraordinary besha.
Santha Tulasi Das composed Rama Charita Manas after completing Rama Charitamans while moving towards the bank of the river Saraju and while reading Ramayan composed by Maharsi Balmiki in Uttara kanda he witnessed Mahaprabhu Shree Ram was talking to Lanka Pati Bibhisan that in Kaliyuga Purusottam Jagannath will become the incarnations of Shree Ram “ Aradhyaya Purusotamam Ikshyaku kula daibatam” after reading out this vers Tulasi Das reached in Puri Dham infact Tulasi Das was the chief disciple of Rai Ramananda and Shree Narahari after reaching Shreekshetra Tulasi Das saw the magnificent half built Lord Jagannath, Shree Balabhdra and Maa Subhadra and he cried out with utter disappointment, So he resolved to return back.
Being tired he slept near Tulasi Chaunra in the deep night Lord Jagannath with holding Dhanu Sara and Tuniara gave most significant Darshan As he suspension melted out. “Johi Rama Sohi Jagadisho Dina hi anta na pabata sesa’ Sesa bhaye laxman anuchari Bhadraso sio rajakumari” (Rama charita Manas by tulasi das).
The day tulasi das witnessed this bhabya besha was Thursday and tithi was ekadasi from that day onwards which day ekadasi tithi and Gurubar falls the Besha parba and rituals are being conducted perfectly. From that incidents Shree Ram and Laxman adorn with this Besha after Niti Ballabha Dhupa this Besha is conducted and before Badasinghara ulagi parba starts. After that Badasinghara Besha is being conducted as the part and partcel of nitya besha.
